Its been quite sometime since i last updated my blogskin. Simply searching the net and using one of those free codes just ain't my taste. In life, you have to do everything by yourself.
Spent some time working the design and coding. Not saying its all that great either, just wanted something original and looks good, and errr... red. I intend to use this blogskin for the next 2 and a half years to come, by then i'll be in a faraway place, fighting against mosquitoes and probably huge rats. Got to say, this format of a web page is super compatible with many things, displays quite alright in mobile devices too, such as the itouch/phone.
The only big problem so far is the display of the background in firefox and safari. It shows in IE, but i have no balls idea why i doesn't show up elsewhere. Take a look at the code, and if you know the problem drop me a line or a tag.
As of this post the "link" page and "others" page are not working, don't bother clicking on them. Will update them in the next... err update. Portfolio will also be reworked in the next update. Hopefully all these bugs will be fixed.
The following content had been reportedly rated boring. Based on a true story.

206 : As for tomomorrow...
Its 2008 already, that i just realised. Yeah, had been a bit slow on things and maybe, i had also been living in the past for too long. As i lie null and numb about the days ahead, no true goals nothing to look forward to, its just as if life is rotting away for me. I don't seem to look forward to tomorrow as i used back in school. Everyday was just work, come home rest, sleep, repeat and rinse, weekends go out eat and walk walk. Is this really how adult working life is ? Cos it just sucks.
Sure we can have a few outside commitments and all, do your part for the community or stuff like that. Still there's this missing piece inside me that bothers me. And i can't pinpoint what exactly it is, thats the saddest part. Maybe its because i'm pissed about how our society is structured, how men need to kill off 2 years of their time, and lag considerably behind the female counterparts. And maybe how prone my body is to illness and viruses. Too much imperfections too little time to correct them.
Ok reality check time.
Start 2008 to end 2008 - Office work [0.5 year]
End 2008 to end 2010 - NS [2.0 years]
Start 2011 to End 2013 - Getting my degree (and hopefully masters) [3.0 years]
2014 to 2018 - Probably working to feed myself and parents and hit 30 years old. [ 5.0 years]
So at 2014, i'll be like 26 years old. My closest family member would be 53 years old. Considering retirement at 55 years old, i'll have 2 years to chiong work for maintaining the upkeep. So at 28 years of age, i'll be in a soupy situation if i don't get things right. All our lives, its just working hard to support ourselves and our loved ones, whatever happened to ambition and dreams ? Don't they exist anymore ?
In addition, our bodies start to deteriorate after we hit pass around 25 years old, diseases, sickness will come seep in and bother us. Without the proper funding how to tide over man ?!
生老病死, i think its a pretty good summary of our puny little lives we humans have. In 8 years time, i must do something about the situation, no one's gonna help me, its a selfish world out there.
人生无奈,好无奈.

205 : The Squeeze
Personally i found it strange, to have only a 2 day open house for the NUS admissions. With so many dragon babies roaming around, in addition to those who just got their A lvl results, i don't see why it isn't much publicized and made known to everyone.
Maybe i'm being unfair by comparing the ridiculous advertisements from SP a few months back ( they had SP open house posters at NP main bus stop ) to the ones i am seeing nowadays. I only knew about it when i realised i need to sent in my latest results to admission office.
Personally, yeah, i feel too much advertisements aren't so good, but branding sometimes is a good thing. At this moment i just want to say that, yeah its true our local universities aren't that great, i rather attend an australian uni (if i had the money) than our own locally. As students we choose the school we want to attend, rather than letting the schools choose you. I find it sad, that this country is so small, that our choices are so very much limited, that we are also sometimes forced into a situation and controlled by the gahment. Pissed but yeah, no choice, bo bian.
The paper chase is also another one of those bad cultures we have now, again its bo bian, kiasu-ism has its roots deep into the hearts of many around us. To quote someone i know, "You throw a stone down orchard road sure hit someone with a diploma or higher one." AGREED. Last time(parents' time), people wanted their kids to get a diploma and go out work, not with some "o" lvl only. Now.... haix.
Coming back at the open house i did learn a thing or two, the course i inquired seems pretty do-able at least, better than archi. The studios were as usual packed full of thrash and precious models. And with at least 200 people applying, 80 called for selection/interview and 40 enrollment, suddenly with the squeeze and the paper chase going on, 20% chance of getting in seems pretty high, at least i think.... I'll leave it to fate to decide, i've done all the paper work and its all up to lady luck and FATE. Maybe after NS i'll change my mind too...

203 : 2k Salary
Take a look at my OTHER WORKS
You know sometimes, i wonder why polystudents are being look down upon against JC students. It doesn't make sense, hmm ok maybe it does because of branding of the polys in sg. Students who have a JC background does not mean that they're more ELITE. Haha to quote a friend, "most jc kia come out, still work for bosses who were from poly." I lol-ed.
Speaking of which, a classmate of mine is getting paid a pretty good some (inclusive of OT and what not. ) for around 2k plus, well considering we're just poly grads and doing temp work, thats amazing. Me ? I'm just sticking to my rice and soy sauce.

202 : JJC LADIES at work
This post might bore you a bit, advisable to skip, its all up to you.
I'm getting cold feet in seeing all those A1 and A0 paper rolled up, and inside gazillions of lines call it home. But thats how this kind of job and company work.
Dennis mentioned about having family life, about working OT and pushing hard for success, then in the end when reach 40 no wife no girlfriend. The way he puts it is scary, and doesn't seem to far fetched too. From the rate we're working and studying... there simply is no time, for family time.
At my work place, there are 3 JJC ladies, they're there too as temp staff to do all the dirty work like data entry and sorting stuff for the office (and at a terrible rate if i may add). They sit just beside me and we share the same table for work. A level results are coming this weekend, and boy they don't seem a single bit worried or excited, just plain old normal crazy and talkative. Sometimes from their conversation, it reminded me of the short yet FUN period i had at JJ years back, and it really bring back those memories, some which gwah, was a pain to remember too.
I wondered at work, how everyone from my class was doing, and the ladies from my OG too. Most lost contact already, well most of them won't even bother or remember me. Well, i can't even remember which OG i was from, or my class ! But the faces i can still remember quite clearly. When i come out of NS i will probably forget them all too, but its part of life, to move on.
Again and again i looked at myself, was going architecture indeed the best path ? Is it the most correct path ? Having been through the full 3 years in SP architecture, perhaps then i grew numb to many things. Would i have performed better in a JC environment ? No use regretting about anything now...
Well, to anyone who's going the JC path or poly path (especially archi.), do think through very carefully of what you want to do and become in the future. Oh, and for those DAE to poly people, i think its a bit scary to be choosing your future at a age of 15. When i was 15, i knew nuts and really NUTS. Making decisions (life ones especially too) is hard. Very hard.
