191 : muji muri

Lunar new year, what better way to go shopping and enjoy the singapore style of retain therapy. Other than the usual coffee/milk tea that i normally buy from muji, i got some shirts there too. They're super cool la, and must i mention, small too. My classmates got some ted baker shirts, in which they're nothing close to affordable. Wu liu.

Ok now for the good news :

Grades are out for my JC4 submission !


The bad news :

21 other people had the same grades as me out of 77 students in my cohort. I'm talking about B+ and As here... Getting a diploma of merit isn't just working hard here, its about working smart and in addition having the X-factor to impress and convince. Top 5% in my course ? You need to be a celestial being to do so.

Today was JAE at the SPCC, heard that a few 4 pointers were inquiring about SP architecture and some already had decided they wanna come in. Well good for you, cause this year the school taking in 120 students instead of the usual 80. It might be easier to come in, but... you're going to be dealing with extremely hardworking/smart people here.

Don't come to poly thinking you just wanna graduate with a normal diploma, aim for something higher and better, don't waste your 3 years in poly just to get a diploma. Of course, non of these are easy to accomplish.

On another note, certain archi firms are hiring a fresh grads with 1.8k salary, and a few of my classmates got in already (easily i suppose thanks to lack of manpower for IR in singapore).

187 : Things done...finally

186 : Arse Pee Oven Blouse

Being a student is tough life. Though i just know a few years down the lonely road, i might just differ from the statement before.



Ah, the open house of the year, biggest largest MOST EXPENSIVE event of our academic year, or rather what's left of it. So here i am working as a noble BE tour guide, simple leading the way to the next station of exhibits over and over and over again for 6 hours. The shirt we got for the task was simply amazing. Straight forward amazing. Should have changed after the event was over when we went for dinner out. Everyone just knew which school i came from... Now where's my old JJC shirt ? Talk about corporate image. I'm part of it =(

185 : Milestone

incomplete, sad =(

So i didn't finish my model. That was expected, no doubt. But i submitted everything ! The main bulk of my diploma grade is in this submission, gosh was i tired, though i slept every night. With this submission out of the big picture, all thats left are the following things :

- Prepare and rehearse for presentation
- SP OPEN HOUSE DUTY
- AP online portfolio
- End of year archi portfolio submission
- Final term open book tests.
- Rover's web portal
- Materials and tech journal
- Train for 2.4km

Woo hoo, no more printing of ghey A1 boards, no more mindless modelling and cursing why the UHU can't stick properly. More time to play ! More time to go shopping buy clothes look at girls.

184 :JOB DONE .... NOT !

So, i had an extension for submission. How lucky. If not instead of blogging, i should be printing right about now. My physical model is a pain in the arse to complete, wood model really ain't a walk in the park.

I got my good buddy cock bite to come over my place to help with my boards, good training for him too. Hopefully all my renders and boards can finish by today and go print tomorrow.

I did a quick calculation just now, i have a current GPA of 3.2 and with my current grades, i am unable to even apply for my dream uni course. Need at least a 3.5 to qualify for an interview, then have to go thru some crapping and see see my portfolio. According to my calculation, if i do score straight As this submission and get at least a 80 marks for my term tests each, can push my GPA to at least 3.6-3.7. Thank goodness my course the heaviest weightage is in the 3rd year, cos i did really really bad for my year 1 and 2.
